In our Family, Christmas is a time for stories. One of our favorite themes is the Christmas Tree. Each year I pick the Christmas tree. We travel to a small, family owned, Christmas farm and I find the fattest tree on the lot for one of the kids to cut down. The annual bet around how many people will it take to get the tree through the bailer always ends with chuckles and strained muscles from the teenagers manning that machine. Some years our tree has a bit of extra with its story. Like the year that it ended up being two trees fused together or the year Star Wars the Force Awakens led to our discover of Tree-Tree eight. One year, when the children were young, my husband created an ornament from the many rounds we cut to fit the tree in the room. The kids splattered glitter on it, we drilled a hole, weaved a wire through, and realized we had a trinket which would allow that tree to live on through all the Christmas’ to come. Since then, the designs and techniques have gotten more refined and at times, more personal. What hasn't changed is the stories that are recited each year as each ornament is dug from the box of tangled Christmas tree baubles. Our hope is to provide you with the same tradition, each year commemorating that special tree and story as an ornament which will live on while adorning the trees to come.
